How to change shortcuts on the Nokia N97 mini's homescreen

Swapping and editing shortcuts on the Nokia N97 mini's homescreen

The Nokia N97 mini's homescreen offers many customisation options, enabling users to change around elements on the screen to suit exactly how they use the phone.

The homescreen is based around a series of widget panels, allowing users immediate fingertip access to key functions, features, information and content. These widgets can be easily customised (see our article How to set up and use widgets on the Nokia N97 mini's homescreen).

Out of the box, the Nokia N97 mini's homescreen is set up with a Shortcuts widget, which allows users to tap to select any one of four individual functions icons on the panel. These shortcuts can be assigned to dozens of functions and applications, and browser bookmarks too. A simple press of one of the shortcut icons takes you straight there.

You can use up to two Shortcuts panels on the homescreen at any one time. But you can edit what's displayed on the Shortcuts widgets displayed as much as you like - and there are over 80 pre-configured options for features, apps and functions, plus you can assign any browser bookmarks you have stored.
